It’s official!

Super-Daddy and I are now officially grownups. We have 1.5 kids and a mortgage. I met with the painter today, and they will be there bright and early in the morning to pretty up my house. I will post some pics when it is done!

The Grocery Game Principle Hard at Work

I haven’t had to buy meat in over 5 months thanks to the grocery game. My grocery bill is no more than $200 dollars a month, which in this day and age is practically unheard of, thanks to the grocery game. Now…I have one more thing to thank the grocery game for.

    My refrigerator.

The new house comes with a stove, a dishwasher and a microwave/vent-a-hood combo but no refrigerator. We upgraded to stainless steel, because if you are going to get a new kitchen, why not pimp it out? I had to have one that matched the set of course, and we fell in love with the freezer on the bottom/french door model.

It started off at just under $2000 dollars when we found it. We waited around patiently, and it went on sale for $1800.
Then we read in the paper that Texas was having a tax free weekend on energy star appliances on Memorial day weekend. Which saved me $170 bucks right off the bat.

Then I got word that they were also having a 10% off sale on all appliances to go along with the tax free deal. So that’s another $200 saved.

The grocery game taught me the best thing to do is to catch something while it’s on sale, and then use a coupon to further your savings.

So I got a 10% coupon online. Another $200 bucks off the bottom line.

Amount paid: $1400 dollars. Amount saved: $570 bucks.

Not bad for a days work!

(and kudos to Super-daddy for showing up at Lowes super early this morning to make sure no one snabbed our fridge of choice! Luv you!*

  • Pretty Diapers

I couldn’t help myself…they are just so pretty. I already owned the diapers, but they were boring and white. So, a little bit of dye makes everything a whole lot cuter.

SUB and Refried Bean will look really cute in these:
