Before the big ultrasound, I guess I need to set something straight. I am getting asked all the time, “what do you want a boy or a girl?” And while there is a 50/50 chance that we will either get one or the other, of course the only real answer to that question is: “it doesn’t matter as long as it’s healthy.”

And at this point, I can see the benefits to both genders.

If it is a boy:

• I already have tons of clothes
• SUB and Refried Bean will likely be the best of friends
• When they get older, they can share a room and we can convert the 3rd bedroom into a playroom
• I am good at being a boy mommy- I do skinned knees and can handle stunt tricks without even batting an eyelash
• There is nothing like a boy’s love for his mommy….

If it was a girl:

• It would be fun to get to buy some girly clothes, there is some cute stuff over on that side of the store too
• SUB will get to be the big brother and protector of his little sister (which is totally cute!)
• We already have the 3rd bedroom, so they don’t have to share rooms if they don’t want to
• It would force me to be girly sometimes too, it will be a new adventure!
• She will have Super-daddy wrapped around her finger

So I can see both sides of the chromosome. Do I have a feeling? Yes. Could I be wrong? Most defiantly. With SUB I had a feeling that he was a boy, and could only come up with boy names. This time around, I can only come up with girl names…but of course it could be because I already used up my first draft pick of boy names and am having trouble coming up with another…

I have had my eye on the Skip Hop Duo Double diaper bag since I found out that I was expecting. It’s designed for side-by-side strollers, and has enough room for two kids in cloth, which is super important to me. The price tag ($80) was a little much for my cheap self, but I haven’t found anything that even came close to it. So it was on my list of “must-haves” before the baby came.

Today, I happened to get an email, about Amazon’s baby outlet sale or something to that effect. When I click on the link….there before my very eyes…is the Skip Hop Duo Double diaper bag for a mere $45 dollars. Plus free shipping! I haven’t found it anywhere else for less than $80!

The only drawback…the only color on sale is Bubblegum Pink.

So….it’s either an omen that I am having a girl, or I just jinxed myself into having another boy by buying the bag on a whim. Either way, it’s coming home to live with me in 5-9 business days. Just about the time we will find out whether SUB is going to have a little brother or a little sister…

We spent the afternoon cooking…I mean enjoying the sun at the Zoo.
