I was 20 when I met my husband.

I had spent the evening dancing my little heart out on 6th street (in Austin), and stopped at an Exxon to pee. It was 3 am, and meeting my future husband was the farthest thing from my mind at the time. Though, I will admit I did look pretty hot in my knee high leather boots and halter top.

We had to beg the gas station guy to let us use the bathroom. I almost had to turn on the water works, just to get the key. So when my friend’s necklace broke while she was washing her hands, we thought it was a lost cause. But Super-daddy jumped in and saved the day. A real knight and shining armor- except he had a wrench instead of a sword. 3 hours later I found myself calling him on my cell while we drove home. We have been inseparable ever since.

A year and a half later, we got married. We were both still in school, and the 3 day weekend seemed like a perfect opportunity to fly to sin city. We hopped on a plane early Friday morning to Las Vegas to make it official.

We quickly learned that SD was a little too good at Blackjack. We were up about 700 bucks, when I finally pulled him away from the tables to get some sleep that first night. If you ask him about it, he will still tell you that I broke the cardinal rule by making him stop while he was on a winning streak…yada, yada… But all I could think about was our wedding the next day, and the under eye circles that were getting darker every minute I stayed awake. LOL

We had a beautiful little ceremony Saturday afternoon, with white roses and a select group of family and friends. It was simple, and no-fuss which was perfect for us. Afterwards we spent a few hours touring the Star Trek museum (we are uber dorks) and then we finished up the day dining on lobster at Beni Hanas.

The past 6 years have been a crazy ride, but it has been worth every minute. We have moved cross country twice, lived in all sorts of places, and then of course there is our greatest achievement of all: Spit Up Boy. We went through so much to bring him into this world, and I think that it has made us stronger as a couple.

I love you Super-Daddy! You are my best friend, and I can’t wait to spend 50 more great years with you!

After a week in the shop, my car is coming home today! While it was fun driving the Rav 4’s big brother, I will be glad to have my baby SUV back. The Toyota 4 Runner was a house compared to what I am used to, so I had a hell of a time trying to back the thing up! I did appreciate the V8 and it was nice having so much room in the back seat. You could fit 3 Britax carseats back there, and still have room to hop in and buckle everybody in.

Maybe we will look into the 4 Runner for our next car- once I learn to drive that is!

Yes, I know there is a big glaring error message in the sidebar where stuff used to be.  Wordpress hates me, what can I say? I swear I am good at this stuff, you couldn’t tell from looking at it right now…

In my surfing today, I came across this site and am in awe. It may not be for the faint of heart, there are naked ladies, but it shows a whole other side of women, that is often hidden. It also makes me feel a lot better about myself, since I am losing weight but my belly jiggle hasn’t budged a bit…
