Motherhood, parenting, baby food, toddler, advice, freebies, baby gear, potty training, childrens books, diaper bags, playgroups, work at home mom, and whatever else I decide to talk about.

I have been caught up in work lately. So many things coming down the pipeline, I find it hard to sit and make my mind put together creative prose. Find it hard to focus long enough to blog about all the little things that pass me by. But I am going to try hard to get back into the swing of things. It’s good for the soul to write.
On top of that I have discovered the power of the audiobook. My iphone is bursting with new books, and I find myself getting lost in the stories. My latest love - Shiver it’s Twilight-ish but better. Not as hyped…and there are more to come, which makes it more tantilizing.

It’s been a long, busy weekend so I decided to make it an easy night dinner wise and make pancakes and sausage. We cooked up a couple dozen pancakes and sat down for dinner. I tore up one into bite size pieces for Z and he happily gummed it into submission. When I went to wipe his face, I noticed he was splotchy. Over the course of an hour or so, the hives were worse. I go put him in the bathtub and noticed that his diaper area was red as well now, as was his belly and legs.
1/2 tsp of benadryl later and he looks like this:
But I now have to figure out if he is indeed allergic to something in the mix- and my biggest hunch right now is the egg.

As I sit here looking around the lunch room, it’s hard to imagine another way. Sure my co-workers are hard to get along with at times, and my boss lacks manners and tact. But this is the career path I have chosen. I’ve been with the company for 3.5 years now, and there is talk that I am going to be promoted to VP of Marketing any day now.
Looking around the room, I see Jack first. He has been with the company as long as I have. He is what you would call a “ballbuster.” He gets what he wants, no matter the cost. He sets his mind on something, and goes for it with a gusto that I admire (though sometimes it can be irritating when you are the person in the way of his goal.) He sits there eating a bowl of spaghetti, inhaling it. With little regard for those around him. He demands a refill on his drink, and then turns right back to the task at hand.
Then there is Zach. He’s the newest hire. He usually keeps to himself, the strong silent type. But ever so often, he will do something that is so funny, you have to hold your side for fear of breaking into two. He doesn’t eat much, just sort of nibbles. Too engrossed in the intricate pattern of the the tablecloth to bother with his lunch. He sees me staring, and gives me a huge ear-to-ear grin.
Yeah, we are a motley crew here, but together we just fit.
So here I sit, drinking my Dr. Pepper and eating my Lean Cuisine in silence. Well…it’s almost silent….
Except for the sound of Spongebob in the background.

I haven’t really blogged too much about my weight watchers journey, because it has been fairly easy going. I get to eat what I want, and haven’t really struggled with being hungry (thanks to those nursing points) so there hasn’t been much to talk about. But I am proud to say that 4.5 months later I am down 35 pounds. Which is what SUB weighs. And when I pick him up, I feel it. I realize just how much extra baggage I was carrying around.
And on an even better note- I now fit into pre Z jeans and weigh less than I did when I got pregnant with him.
That’s pretty awesome!
So for those keeping tabs- here is what I looked like a year or so after SUB was born.

Then I lost a bunch of weight and then gained a lot of back being pregnant with Z. So here’s a pic of me in December of last year.

And now here I am today. 80 pounds lighter than the first picture, and 35 down since Feb.
