Super-Daddy and I are now officially grownups. We have 1.5 kids and a mortgage. I met with the painter today, and they will be there bright and early in the morning to pretty up my house. I will post some pics when it is done!

I have already given up paper towels and Kleenex in exchange for super-soft washable velour wipes. I have given up disposable diapers for cloth, and am halfway through with buying “Refried Beans” diaper stash, so that his/her butt never has to touch a sposie.

So, we knew this day was coming.

The day that I replace every lightbulb in the house with a more energy efficient compact fluorescent bulbs. The day that we would trade in our gas-guzzling lawn mower for an electric model. The day that I would start toting around re-usable grocery bags instead of opting for plastic ones in the check out line.

Yes, I am turning to the green side, and I feel pretty good about that.

(also for anyone that’s counting- we close on our very first house in 10 days! And we have ultrasound # 2 in 17 days and counting!*

I think I am nesting a little early this time around, which is mainly due to the move. I am spending my days dreaming of paint colors and curtains (which is now about 45 days from closing), and my nights buying diapers and baby carriers.

I am now almost through with my newborn stash, I have 8 GAD’s already picked out and am waiting to get the other 10 when we know if it’s a boy or a girl (which happens on May 6th for all who are wanting to know.) I also sent out all 13 of my Goodmama diapers to be dyed. I am so excited to see the end result…and will post pictures when they are done! And lastly, we are going to venture out into the world of prefolds for a little while during the newborn stage. I can’t stand white diapers, so I will have to get them dyed and embellished (cause that’s how I roll) so those will have to be purchased once we know if it’s a girl or a boy.

And for the record I am still drawn to pink stuff. I am going to be pissed if it’s a boy, not because I don’t want a boy, but just because I hate to be wrong. So stay tuned!
