I get a lot of stuff in the mail these days, but most of it turns right around headed out the door, to you my dear readers. So I have to say that today- I was pretty excited to get something that was all mine. I don’t have to share with anyone…so you will just have to go get your own. LOL

Go get one…they are super comfy.

This Mother’s Day there are two new Chicken Soup for the Soul books. Chicken Soup for the Soul: Like Mother, Like Daughter is full of stories both funny and poignant about the relationships of mothers and daughters. Chicken Soup for the Soul: Moms and Sons has 101 stories and poems about the adventure of raising boys. Until May 10, Target is offering each title at the discounted price of $11.66.

It’s time to show some hometown pride with the Steak-umm “Hometown Burger’ recipe contest sponsored by Quaker Maid Meats. Simply use a special local food in a dish built around Steak-umm Burgers. Who knows – maybe you’ll invent the next Philly cheese steak! Each entry will be judged on originality, taste, visual appeal, creative pairing of your hometown ingredient with the Steak-umm product, and the extent to which the recipe brings out the essence of the local cuisine. 
The grand prize is a Weber Q 100 Liquid Propane Gas Grill – just in time for summer barbecuing. The two runners-up will receive a 10” limited-edition Steak-umm frying pan.  

The contest runs from March 15 through June 15. Winners will be selected by June 25.  Recipes can be submitted to hometownburgercontest@sspr.com with the subject line ‘Hometown Burger Contest.’

This is the first year that we are starting to talk about Santa with SUB. He may not quite get it yet, and he certainly isn’t ready to write his own letter to Santa but the time is fast approaching. And with that comes the logistics of Santa letters. Do you put the letter in the mailbox? Do you hide it up in the cabinet (my parents method of choice) or do you have them hand deliver it somewhere?

So when I heard about Macy’s new Santa Letterbox, I thought it was a really cool idea. Macy’s is collecting these letters in a special Santa letterbox at all Macy’s stores. For each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Believe Meter will measure America’s belief, based on our collective spirit – including the amount of letters received and other current events that reflect the season’s generosity.

So this year, help out those in need and make the holiday’s a little more magical by dropping off your kid’s christmas letters at Macy’s.

Maybe he will bring me the Wii fit I have been eyeballing….
